Thank you for choosing Hand Poured Apothecary!  My name is Rachel and I am the sole maker of these beautiful products! 

My why for Hand Poured Apothecary- My family has a lot of allergy and asthma issues and we believe in taking a holistic approach whenever we can.  Once we eliminated toxic shampoos, detergents, soaps and other items from our household, we decided to research best waxes to use in Candles. I love using wax melts and candles in our home, but because of our allergies/asthma we no longer could. Beeswax has some amazing natural properties so it was the best choice for our home.  If they are scented they are scented with only the finest and pure essential oils. 

 

What makes us special is ALL of our beeswax comes from a local beekeeper in my home town.   It comes directly from the Hive! I take that wax which  may contain bee parts, honey, propolis, pollen and other bee products, and I filter it out a few times so that most impurities are removed. This ensures that your only getting the best of the best when it comes to beeswax! 

Products made from beeswax depending on the season may be lighter or darker. This has to do with when the beeswax was collected.

Notice that your beeswax has a frosty layer? This is called "bloom"- Bloom is the natural oils coming out of the wax. This is a normal process and means your beeswax is 100% real! IF your beeswax doesn't bloom that means your wax is mixed with other types telling you that it isn't 100%. When your candle does produce bloom- Just wipe it away with a cloth and your good to go!
